Heroes for the Homeland is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization made up of Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Personnel who wish to aid American Communities devastated by natural and man-made disasters by (1) ensuring that the families and homes of first responders in those communities are safe, enabling the emergency workers to focus on helping the surrounding community without worry and (2) assisting in the cleanup of the surrounding communities. Established in 2012, we have responded to Toms River, NJ after Hurricane Sandy in October/November 2012, Oklahoma City, OK after the tornados in May/June 2013 and Washington, IL after the tornados in November 2013.
We will be running a Lift-A-Thon Fundraiser for Heroes for the Homeland on Saturday, December 13th starting at 8:00AM.
Heroes for the Homeland’s mission is to assist men, women, and children in disaster-stricken communities by providing essential supplies and clean-up assistance during recovery efforts.
We will run five (5) lifters every hour starting at 8:00AM with our last event at 2:00PM. The lifts will be:
- Power Clean,
- Back Squat,
- Bench Press, &
Participants are encouraged to acquire sponsors to pledge $0.05, $0.10, or $0.25 for each pound of weight lifted.
Sign ups will start Wednesday, November 12th and spots will be first-come first-serve. Upon signing up, sponsorship forms will given our to gain donation pledges.
All donations will be collected by Ben Cockshott and are expected to be turned in by December 27th.
